It’s All About the Process

I find that having a solid process is super important. Here I have outlined how I like to do it. This means both me and my client can know what’s going on. I always like to keep my clients involved, so the end of each stage is met with a call to talk things through and figure out where to go next.

So at this point, we start with a call. Here we'll learn more about each other and how we work. My main aim in this stage is to fully understand what you want me to create. This will cover everything from your target audience to your projects' history. The more information I have, the better!

From this call, I'll drop you a project proposal outlining each part of the project as well as a deposit invoice of 50% to be paid before moving to the next step

1.) Discover

2.) Research

From our call, I'll go away to my little cave and get cracking on the nitty gritty. This is where I take a look into the world and see what already exists, as well as generate ideas for possible routes.

I'll send you 2-3 possible themes/routes. This will consist of mood boards to outline possible themes and design aesthetics.

You can choose whichever route you think fits and I'll get to work.

Stage three is where the real fun starts. From all of the ground we have covered, I can start bringing themes and ideas together. I will start by sketching and mind-mapping to secure a few different ideas before I design digitally. I like to start with sketching before I go digital. It allows me to nail those concepts without the constraints of a screen. I always like to keep my clients in the loop of what I'm doing, so expect frequent updates on how this stage is going.

From the sketches, I'll choose a couple of routes that I think have the most potential and develop them into (small) concept brand identities. I'll then fire over a presentation about everything I've done and why.

3.) Develop

Now really comes the fine-tuning. Once we've had a really good chat about the work I've done and you've given me feedback, I'll go away and refine it. This means nailing every detail of the brand to make the identity consistent across the board. It'll cover brand assets, typefaces, colour palettes, artwork, imagery, layouts etc.

All I want is to make you the best brand identity possible. And that's what I'll do.

4.) Refine

From refining all those little details I'll put together an extensive project presentation. This will outline the process of the entire project as well as highlight the thought process for each part of the brand.

This is a great way to showcase the entire journey, allow you to give any final feedback as well as ensure you're 100% happy before signing off.

5.) Finalise

This is where one door closes and another opens. You have a new shiny toy to play with!

After we've discussed everything and you're happy with the project, I'll organise all of the brands' assets. This will be accompanied with the final project deposit. After this is fulfilled, I’ll fire over all the files as well as a brand book (if agreed on).

Now you're brand is ready to go and live in the real world... Good Luck!

6.) Bring to Life

If you like the sound of this and fancy enquiring, make sure to drop me a message!
